The 2025 revision of the Swiss Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), in force since 1 October 2026, introduces a substantial change to Switzerland’s anti-money laundering framework. The new rules extend anti-money laundering obligations to advisers who carry out certain activities, even if they have no power to dispose of third-party assets. It is therefore essential to understand which activities fall within the scope of the Act. However, the open-ended wording of several concepts will require clarification through case law.
